Names and address after marriage - You can legally change your middle and last names as well as suffixes (Jr, Sr, III, etc) during a marriage application. After your marriage, requests for name changes require an amendment, documentation and a fee. It is important to have all legal documents in the same name. Accuracy of your names is your responsibility. Some name changes must be done through court as a petition for a legal name change. If either applicant has committed a felony crime under any law, a name change cannot be done through a marriage license application.
